Question
Has the Welsh Government consulted with Welsh farming unions and livestock markets regarding the implications of different policy positions in regard to bluetongue disease movement protocols?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
I held a Bluetongue roundtable meeting with senior representatives of the livestock and veterinary sectors on 5 June. I listened to their views and will consider them carefully before deciding on a proportionate policy for future Bluetongue control. I will announce my decision on 12 June.
