Question
How is the Welsh Government supporting Ukrainian refugees in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Trefnydd and Chief Whip
There are very few Ukrainians now arriving in Wales. However, we continue to ensure all people seeking sanctuary in Wales are welcomed and supported from day one of their arrival. This includes helping them move on to longer-term accommodation and be supported in our communities.
For new arrivals, our current approach is to match them directly with a host. If this is not possible, we provide up to 75 days accommodation. During this time, local authority partners work intensively with each household to support independent living and secure longer-term accommodation.
