Question
How does the Welsh Government plan the provision of mental health services?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing
Our long term plans have been set out in the recently published 10-year Mental Health and Well Being Strategy. The Welsh Government have also issued the NHS Wales Planning Framework 2025-2028 which outlines the high-level ambition for our health and care system and its key expectations in delivery.
Our strategy aligns to the National Clinical Framework that sets out a model for planning and delivery of clinical services and it highlights our commitment to develop a Mental Health Quality Statements. This will set out the vision for specific clinical services and pathways and be underpinned by more detailed service specifications describing the outcomes and benefits expected.
