Question
Does the Welsh Government have a map of all the land that is in public sector ownership in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
HM Land Registry (HMLR) is responsible for land registration in England and Wales including public sector owned property.
Welsh Government has purchased copies of HMLR boundary files for our own use on a mapping system known as ‘DataMapWales’. Work has been undertaken to process the raw HMLR data to categorise land as owned by Welsh Ministers, Public Sector Wales, Education or other public ownership, but is not currently in a publicly accessible version.
