Question
What steps is the Cabinet Secretary taking to ensure that local authorities manage ragwort on public land?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Wesh Government has published a Code of Practice for the control of common ragwort. This is available on the Welsh Government website Common ragwort: code of practice | GOV.WALES.
The aim of the guidance is to help people, including local authorities, prevent the spread of this species where there is a risk to the health and welfare of horses and livestock, or land used to produce forage.
