Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm the Welsh Government's total expenditure allocated to reducing waiting times and the waiting list since 1 January 2025, broken down by health board?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
Since 2022, we have distributed £170m a year between health boards to support planned care delivery. The health board allocations for 2024-25 include planned care funding for January to March 2025 and the 2025-26 allocations include planned care funding for April 2025 to March 2026: Health board allocations | GOV.WALES
In addition to this, health boards received funding against their plans to reduce long waiting times between October 2024 and March 2025 (this is shown in column one of the table below).
Health boards have also received a share of the £120m plan to reduce long waiting times in 2025-26. Column two in the table shows funding allocated to date – in 2025-26 the funding is being released on proof of delivery against agreed plans.
