Question
What methodology does the Welsh Government apply to its infrastructure projects for carbon measurement and what targeted reductions do they expect to be applied?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Net Zero Wales sets our approach to reduce emissions across all sectors in Wales, including infrastructure projects, to meet our statutory targets. Our Wales Infrastructure Investment Strategy sets out our 10-year strategy for infrastructure in Wales. Targets are also in place for the reduction of embodied carbon which have recently moved from a maximum of 800kgCO2e/m2 to 600 kgCO2e/m2, further reducing to 350 kgCO2e/m2 from 2030.
