Question
What discussions is the Cabinet Secretary having with local authorities about ensuring that drains and bridges over streams are regularly cleared?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Risk Management Authorities (RMA) are responsible for managing flood risk in their areas.
This year, we have made over £77 million available to RMA across Wales to invest in flood alleviation schemes, with £4.95 million revenue allocated as part of the Revenue Support Grant (RSG). The RSG can be used for public awareness campaigns, warning systems and maintaining local authority flood risk management assets
