Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm that no Wales Air Ambulance bases will close until additional road vehicles for mid Wales are deployed, as agreed by the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee following their decision to permanently close air ambulance bases in Welshpool and Caernarfon?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
The development of commissioning proposals for the provision of emergency ambulance response services is the responsibility of the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee.
The committee will need to consider the next steps for the delivery of the decisions it made in April 2024. I understand it will receive an update at its November meeting.
