Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm whether the Welsh Government intends to introduce questions relating to the menopause to regular NHS health checks in Wales, following the announcement that those in England will include questions on the menopause from 2026?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing
The Women’s Health Plan sets out how the NHS will Make Every Contact Count – clinicians will be encouraged to ask women about menstrual health and menopause during existing appointments. A working group has been established to develop this approach further.
Menopause is a priority area for the pathfinder Women’s Health Hubs, which will be launched in every health board area by the end of March 2026.
