Question
What steps is the Cabinet Secretary taking to ensure that people impacted by flooding can access funding to help with the clear up?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Through the Emergency Financial Assistance Scheme, Welsh Government will provide grants to homes that were flooded, £1000 for those who are uninsured, and £500 for those who are insured.
Those affected should approach the local authority for this support. We will also support the Local Authority with the costs of providing discretionary council tax reductions for those who were flooded and in giving reductions in non-domestic rates for affected businesses.
