Question
How are Artificial Limb and Appliance Centres in Wales currently performing on a) standard manual wheelchair referral to delivery time; b) complex wheelchair and/or posture management system ordered from manufacturer referral to delivery time; c) emergency repair time of equipment; and d) non emergency repair time of equipment?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
In Wales, wheelchairs are provided by the Posture and Mobility Service and delivered in-house by specialist Artificial Limb and Appliance Centres (ALACs) located in North and South Wales.
The Posture and Mobility Service is centrally commissioned by the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee on behalf of the seven health boards in Wales. As such, Welsh Government does not hold the data requested.
