Question
What mechanisms does the Welsh Government have in place to ensure that recommendations issued by Healthcare Inspectorate Wales are implemented in a timely and accountable manner?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
NHS Wales Performance and Improvement supports NHS organisations to embed Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) recommendations into workplans. HIW monitors and follows up on progress of improvements through an established process. Welsh Government officials hold monthly meetings with health boards to review compliance, where each organisation reports on performance against recommendations and emerging themes.
