Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on how they measure the number of people dying inside an ambulance whilst waiting outside a hospital A&E department?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust (WAST) and / or the relevant local health board are responsible for recording instances where a death occurs on an ambulance vehicle.
Information on how WAST records deaths in ambulances and how the Trust and / or the relevant local health board measures the number of people dying inside an ambulance whilst waiting outside a hospital emergency department is not held centrally by the Welsh Government.
