Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm if allocating any funding to Powys Teaching Health Board to allow them to buy healthcare capacity in England based on English waiting-time targets was discussed as part of the negotiations for the budget deal with Plaid Cymru in December 2025?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Welsh Language
As the First Minister set out in her written statement on 9 December Written Statement: Budget Agreement (9 December 2025) | GOV.WALES, the agreement reached between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru secures additional investment for public services, including an extra £180m for the health and social care budget.
The agreement will be reflected in the Final Budget – together with other allocations to be made by the Welsh Government, which do not form part of the agreement – which is published on 20 January 2026.
