Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm if hospitality businesses are included in the Welsh Government’s transitional relief scheme for business rates?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Welsh Language
The Welsh Government is providing transitional relief to all ratepayers whose non-domestic rates liabilities will increase by more than £300, as a consequence of the 2026 revaluation. Eligibility is not limited to any sector, size, or type of property. £116m has been allocated over the next two years to fully fund this relief, supporting all areas of the tax-base, including hospitality businesses, in a consistent and straightforward manner.
