Question
Has the Welsh Government assessed the compatibility of their current requirements for broadly Christian collective worship with the Supreme Court's findings on objectivity and phluralism?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Education
I am aware of the Supreme Court judgement on Religious Education and collective worship. That case is very specific to the school system in Northern Ireland and its legislation which is different to that in Wales.
We continue to give careful consideration to the issue and any potential implications for collective worship in Wales. We will be reviewing, consulting on and updating the existing guidance.
