Question
What steps is the Welsh Government taking to ensure that the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy (2025-2035) leads to improvements in NHS mental healthcare for people living with Huntington’s disease?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
I refer you to the answers to WQ98120, WQ98125, WQ98144, and WQ98261.
We are focused on progressing a standardised approach to named care co-ordination across Wales, in line with updated National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance, which highlights the benefits of having a named healthcare professional to support continuity and navigation of care.
The publication of the NICE guidance represents an important step in this direction and aligns with the Welsh Government’s ongoing work to strengthen co-ordinated, person‑centred care for people living with Huntington’s disease and other neurological conditions.
