How does the Welsh Government assess a) access, b) usage and c) clinical outcomes of the Eye Health Examination Wales service since it was introduced?

Access is monitored through health board commissioning arrangements and oversight by the Eye Care Wales committee.
Usage is assessed through national activity and claims data, including the Welsh Government’s annual eye care statistics release.
Clinical outcomes are monitored through referral quality, advice from Wales General Ophthalmic Services national clinical leads, and assurance via the Eye Care Wales committee, supported by Health Education and Improvement Wales on workforce capability.
