Question
How much funding has the Welsh Government provided to Powys County Council for the maintenance and upkeep of footpaths?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
The Welsh Government has modernised its transport grants by merging several funding streams into a single Regional Transport Fund, streamlining processes for local authorities and enabling coordinated regional investment decisions. A full list of funded schemes can be located on our Regional transport grants awarded 2026 to 2027 in which this highlights a total of £115.9 million has been awarded to local authorities. Individual footpath maintenance budgets are determined locally by Powys County Council.
