Why did the Welsh Government ask Powys Teaching Health Board to consider options around phasing the proposed development of the Newtown health hub?

Powys Teaching Health Board was awarded funding from the Integration and Rebalancing Capital Fund in March 2025 to develop an outline business case for the North Powys Health and Wellbeing Scheme.
Funding has been agreed for the next stage of the final business case, with a further submission to the Welsh Government for funding for the construction of the scheme in early 2027. This staging is part of good business case development in refining the thinking around the future options as progress with the integrated hub business case is made.
