Question
What action is the Welsh Government taking to increase enforcement against the selling of illegal e-cigarettes in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
We have allocated £650,000 to Trading Standards Wales (TSW) in 2026-27 to boost enforcement efforts and expand workforce capacity. It will enable more inspections, test purchases, and seizures of illegal products to take place, including against retailers selling products to under‑18s. It will also fund five apprentice enforcement officers to assist enforcement activity.
