Question
Did the First Minister raise the subject of Welsh independence during his telephone call with the Prime Minister following his appointment?
Answer
Answered by First Minister (Rhun ap Iorwerth)
My initial discussion with the Prime Minister focused on the priorities which I set out in the Senedd on 19 May, and how our two governments can work together to deliver for the people of Wales. I raised my intention to lead a national conversation on Wales’s constitutional future, including the Welsh Government’s ambition for independence, recognising that the people of Wales will ultimately decide the trajectory and pace of any change.
