Question
How does the Welsh Government intend to work with the private sector in relation to Welsh language standards?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Education and the Welsh Language (Anna Brychan)
I am grateful to the private sector bodies that are already providing Welsh language services to their customers, and welcome the Welsh Language Commissioner’s work through the Cynnig Cymraeg scheme to increase the use of Welsh in the private sector.
Improving Welsh language services and giving Welsh speakers an opportunity to use the language across all sectors is a priority for us, including when dealing with bodies from the private sector. We are currently considering our priorities for introducing Welsh language standards to more sectors.
