Current policy focuses on strengthening structures through national direction, regional collaboration, and clinical networks.
The National Clinical Strategy for Ophthalmology supports organisational reform and a sustainable cross health board delivery model. Priority is integration of primary care optometry, pathway transformation and regional approaches addressing structural challenges alongside performance led implementation.
