Question
Will the Cabinet Minister provide an update regarding the production of the Cancer Data Development Roadmap, an action mentioned in the April 2025 update to the Cancer Quality Statement and assigned to the National Cancer Leadership Board and Digital Health and Care Wales?

The cancer data development roadmap was approved by the National Cancer Leadership Board on 2 December 2025 and is unsuitable for publishing as it is a set of requirements determined by NHS Wales Performance and Improvement to inform health boards and Digital Health and Care Wales.
Digital Health and Care Wales presented implementation options to the National Cancer Leadership Board in February and April 2026, and the preferred option was discussed with NHS directors of digital on 6 May.
The preferred option is now undergoing testing for its implications, such as information governance consequences and data linkage requirements. Further engagement with NHS directors of digital is planned for the coming months, and this will inform requirements for the National Cancer Plan.
