Question
Will the Cabinet Minister confirm how many operations have been cancelled in the last month due to a shortage of anaesthetists at Bronglais hospital?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
Under the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006, Local Health Boards are responsible for planning and delivering services to meet the needs of their local populations, including managing workforce capacity and the scheduling of operations. As such, this level of operational detail sits with Hywel Dda University Health Board, which manages Bronglais Hospital.
