Question
How much funding will the Welsh Government allocate in support of Wrexham's 2029 City of Culture bid in the financial years 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29?
Answer
Answered by Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport (Heledd Fychan)
My officials are working closely with Wrexham County Borough Council and the bid team as it prepares a full application for the next stage of the process. This includes discussions on possible financial support.
To date the Welsh Government has allocated £60,000 in 2026/27 towards supporting the development of Wrexham’s application.
