Question
When will the main entrance to Wrexham Maelor Hospital be repaired and reopened?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is currently working with procurement to appoint a contractor to carry out the reinstatement of the main entrance at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. A completion timetable will be confirmed once the contractor has been appointed. As the replacement doors are bespoke, the lead-in time will need to be fully assessed and agreed by the Health Board. All future hospital infrastructure and repair works have to be considered in the context of the £1.4bn NHS Estate maintenance backlog inherited from the previous administration.
