Question
What assessment has the Cabinet Minister made of the impact of the loss of funding for community focused schools on the delivery of preventative work and the Marmot principles in Merthyr Tydfil, given that is has been designated as a Marmot trailblazer authority?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Education and the Welsh Language (Anna Brychan)
I have taken these three questions together as they are interrelated.
There has been no change in the funding and guidance provided by Welsh Government to Merthyr Tydfil Council to support Communities Focused Schools (CFS) approaches. I am aware that there are discussions underway about changes to the way in which CFS services are delivered within the Merthyr Tydfil local authority area, and as part of those considerations they are considering the impacts and opportunities any changes present.
