Question
What preparations has the Cabinet Minister made in developing a new cancer plan for Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
We have started work on the development of a national cancer plan for Wales. I will provide a statement before the end of this term setting out our intentions and how we will engage with stakeholders on the content of that plan. This work is happening alongside other actions in the First 100 day plan to improve cancer services and outcomes, including organising a Wales Cancer Conference for 2027 to bring together healthcare professionals and stakeholders to share best practice and latest innovation on cancer care and commissioning a feasibility study for establishing a new Rapid Diagnostic Centre (RDC) for Powys.
