Question
What legal advice has the Welsh Government sought regarding its proposed national crime prevention agency?
Answer
Answered by Counsel General (Elfyn Llwyd)
We will bring forward plans for a new National Crime Prevention Agency for Wales, to coordinate crime prevention and diversion across police forces, the NHS, local authorities, schools, and third-sector partners.
We are undertaking initial scoping and assessment to determine the parameters of the Agency, including how best to leverage partnership working with key Welsh stakeholders, take an evidence-led approach, and ensure value for money and effectiveness in supporting the delivery of community safety for the people of Wales.
