Question
What support will the Welsh Government provide to Caerleon’s bid for UK Town of Culture 2028?
Answer
Answered by Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport (Heledd Fychan)
The Welsh Government welcomes the potential for a Welsh town to become UK Town of Culture, given the strong potential this has for economic growth, enabling communities to thrive and promoting wellbeing.
The UK Government is expected to announce a shortlist in due course. The Welsh Government will then engage with all shortlisted towns in Wales.
