The Welsh Government publishes annual analysis of financial reserves held by schools in Wales.
The latest figures show that at 31 March 2025, 296 primary, 71 secondary, 9 special, 2 nursery and 15 middle schools in Wales had negative reserves totalling £72 million.
The remaining 1,074 schools had positive reserves. The overall level of reserves held by schools in Wales was £66 million at 31 March 2025.
