Question
What action is the Cabinet Minister taking to conduct a full review of the working practices of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, in light of the findings and recommendations contained in the Competition and Markets Authority's final report?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability (Llyr Gruffydd)
The regulation of the veterinary profession is a reserved matter and, as such, a review of the working practices of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons does not fall within the remit of the Welsh Government. Officials continue to engage with Defra in relation to the recommendations set out in the Competition and Markets Authority’s final report.
