Question
What progress has the Welsh Government made in reviewing the Carr-Hill formula for GP funding and does it intend to introduce a revised funding model that more accurately reflects the needs and workload of GP practices across Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
The Welsh Government is progressing work to review GP funding arrangements to ensure they better reflect patient need and practice workload. A working group comprising Welsh Government officials, GP representatives and health board colleagues is scoping a review of the GP funding allocation formula, including the Carr-Hill methodology.
