Question
Will the Cabinet Minister confirm whether the Welsh Government intends to review the local government funding formula to better reflect the additional costs of service delivery in large, rural counties such as Powys?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Finance (Elin Jones)
The Cabinet Minister for Local Government, Housing, and Planning is taking forward a review of the local government funding formula, in partnership with local government.
This involves reviewing indicators of relative need, including those based on population sparsity, to ensure the formula continues to reflect the differing costs of delivering services across all parts of Wales.
