Question
Will the Cabinet Minister set out what he discussed with the First Minister of Northern Ireland during his recent visit, if the meeting was minuted, and if so, will they be made publicly available?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Government Effectiveness & the Constitution (Dafydd Trystan Davies)
I attended a joint meeting with the NI Executive First Minister Michelle O’Neill MLA and deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly MLA while in Belfast for the Inter-Ministerial Standing Committee on 24 June 2026. The Welsh Government has issued a press notice and a joint communique outlining the topics raised during engagement has been published here. I will shortly write to the Constitution, Justice and External Affairs Committee, and other relevant Senedd committees, to provide a further update on the discussions.
