Question
What steps is the Welsh Government taking to ensure that the recommendations set out in the Unheard report are implemented and incorporated into the new cancer plan for Wales, given the report's findings on the challenges experienced by women with gynaecological cancers?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
I intend to make an announcement via a Written Statement to the Senedd on 15 July 2026 setting out the next steps for the commitment to a National Cancer Plan, including its intended publication date and methods of engagement. The content of the plan is being scoped and will take into account learning from the Health and Social Care Committee’s report into gynaecological cancers. Our working assumption at this stage is to publish the plan at the Wales Cancer Conference in February 2027.
