Question
What discussions has the Cabinet Minister had with Cadw about improving public access to Newport Castle?
Answer
Answered by Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport (Heledd Fychan)
Cadw officials continue to work with Newport City Council and Transport for Wales on proposals to improve public access to Newport Castle. Cadw is working with partners to consider how the castle can be better integrated into wider regeneration plans, with the aim of enhancing access and restoring the monument as an important public amenity and focal point on Newport’s waterfront.
