Question
What is the Welsh Government doing to promote Gower dialect of English?
Answer
Answered by Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport (Heledd Fychan)
The identities, heritage and dialects rooted in places across Wales help tell the story of who we are. They connect us to our local and national history, helping to enrich the distinctive character of communities and sustain a strong sense of belonging across Wales.
Although dialects are integral to Wales’s rich cultural heritage and historical identity, the Welsh Government does not directly promote any dialects across Wales, including the Gower dialect of English.
