Question
Further to WQ98635, will the Cabinet Minister explain why the Welsh Government continues to engage with the Muslim Council of Wales, given the UK Government's long-standing policy of non-engagement with the Muslim Council of Britain, of which it is an affiliate, due to concerns about extremism?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality (Sioned Williams)
The Muslim Council of Britain and the Muslim Council of Wales are separate organisations. Engagement with external organisations is considered on a case-by-case basis in support of the Welsh Government's policy objectives.
