Question
Will the Cabinet Minister confirm how many people have received the HPV vaccine in schools since 2008?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health (Nerys Evans)
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programme is an important part of our efforts to prevent disease and improve long-term health outcomes for young people in Wales.
Information provided by Public Health Wales indicates that between 1 January 2008 and 13 August 2026, 321,853 individuals in Wales received at least one HPV vaccination administered in a school or examination centre setting.
