Question
Further to WQ99485, what assessment has Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru, or any other publicly funded renewable energy body, made of asbestos-containing components in wind turbines on sites they own or are repowering, and what asbestos surveys and removal requirements are placed on development partners?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy (Adam Price)
Neither Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru nor the Welsh Government has undertaken a specific assessment of asbestos-containing components in wind turbines on sites owned by, or being developed by, Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru.
For repowering or redevelopment projects, asbestos surveys and any necessary removal are undertaken where required by site conditions and in accordance with legal, regulatory and health and safety requirements.
