Amendment 49
- MotionRejected
Luke Fletcher (Plaid Cymru) brought a motion noting that education maintenance allowance, money for post-16 learners, has not risen in value since 2004. It asks the Welsh Government to consider an inflation-linked rise and a review of the thresholds. The Senedd agreed the motion.
Whether to agree the motion as written, asking the Welsh Government to consider an inflation-linked rise in education maintenance allowance and a review of its thresholds.
The Welsh Conservatives (Darren Millar) asked the Senedd to note that habilitation training, which teaches sight-impaired children mobility and independent living skills, is not offered by some councils, and to call for a workforce plan. Welsh Labour (Lesley Griffiths) proposed an amendment. The Senedd rejected both the amendment and the motion, so nothing was agreed.
Whether to agree the Welsh Conservative motion as originally written, including the call for a workforce plan and one specialist per 100 visually impaired children.
Whether to replace the motion's points 3 and 4 with Labour's wording, calling on all councils to offer the training and on the Government to help develop an improvement plan.
