Welsh Conservatives Debate - Sustainable Farming Scheme
The Welsh Conservatives (Paul Davies) asked the Senedd to regret the Welsh Government's impact assessment of the Sustainable Farming Scheme and to call for the scheme to be scrapped and replaced. Labour's Jane Hutt's amendment replaced the motion with wording backing the scheme. The Senedd agreed that amendment and the motion as amended.
- Motion without amendment
The Welsh Conservatives' original motion, regretting the impact assessment's findings and calling for the scheme to be scrapped and replaced.
Rejected - Amendment 1, tabled in the name of Jane Hutt
Labour's Amendment 1, replacing the whole motion with wording that welcomes the scheme's collaborative development, its published business case and over £340 million of funding.
Agreed - Amendment 3, tabled in the name of Heledd Fychan
Plaid Cymru's Amendment 3, asking the Welsh and UK Governments to agree a multi-year farming budget and stop Barnett-style funding of it.
Rejected - Motion as amended
The final vote on the motion as changed by Amendment 1, which now backs the scheme and no longer calls for it to be scrapped.
