What discussions has the Cabinet Minister had with the UK Government about recognising additional professions, including chiropractors regulated by the General Chiropractic Council, as allied health professions in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
I have not had any discussions with the UK Government regarding the recognition of additional professions, including chiropractors regulated by the General Chiropractic Council, as Allied Health Professions in Wales.
The Allied Health Professions are an established group of professions within the health and social care workforce. Chiropractors are not currently recognised as Allied Health Professionals in Wales and are not routinely employed within NHS Wales services.
The Welsh Government has no current plans to review this position.
