Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing
An evaluation of minimum unit pricing (MUP) has been commissioned by the Welsh Government. A first follow-up is currently due to take place by October 2022, with interim progress reports from those studies available in March 2023. A final follow-up is due to take place in autumn 2023, with the final report, which will include conclusions about the effectiveness of the legislation, available in late 2024. This evaluation will inform the report on the operation and effect of the Public Health (Minimum Unit Price for Alcohol) (Wales) Act 2018, which is required to be laid before the Senedd at the end of a five-year review period.
