What steps is the Minister taking to ensure that all private landlords are registered with Rent Smart Wales?

Compliance officers at Rent Smart Wales and Local Authority officers use a range of tools to identify non-compliant landlords. This can be, but is not limited to, cross-referencing Land Registry details of ownership with Council Tax records, checking Housing Benefit claims against the Rent Smart Wales register, and also local knowledge of known rented accommodation. Also important is the reporting of non-compliance of landlords and agents by members of the public, whether this be tenants, other landlords or agents, or neighbours.
