What funding has the Welsh Government provided to support each of the Pride events in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Social Partnership
During Pride month we announced an unprecedented Wales-wide Pride fund to help with the long-term planning and sustainability of grassroots events across the country. This is in recognition of the important role Pride plays as a grassroots movement.
Pride has long been at the heart LGBTQ+ life, as a celebration, protest, driver of change and events that bring whole communities together. Historically Welsh Government has provided funding to Pride Cymru to enable events to take place. This support for Pride Cymru will continue but the introduction of the new Wales-wide Pride fund will support smaller movements to thrive and help ensure that every LGBTQ+ person can take part in what Prides have to offer.
I look forward to working with representatives from Prides across Wales to help shape the fund in order to best meet the needs of the Pride movement in Wales
